We ask that anyone having information about any crimes committed on campus call 661-1109.  You don’t need to tell us who you are; just tell us what you know.  You can provide your information anonymously through our “Silent Witness” page at on the campus police web site (http://www.fmarion.edu/about/police ).  In the past, “Silent Witness” reports have provided leads on cases under investigation.  Thanks to those community members concerned with keeping FMU safe and secure.   Please be our eyes and ears out there….  We need you to help us to help you.


For the period 08-16-12 through 09-11-12 the following incidents were reported to and/or investigated by Campus Police:

08-19-12

A report of A Simple Assault, Off Campus at Patriot Place Apartments.  The victim reports being assaulted by an unknown subject.

08-20-12

A report of Drug Narcotic Violations and Providing False Information to Police in Parking Lot “G”.  Officers made contact and found marijuana in the vehicle.  Three subjects jailed one of the three, a student, was also referred to Student Affairs.

08-21-12

A report of Alleged Suicidal Gestures (Non-student) at the Education Foundation Building.  A non-student made threats to harm self.  Referred to Doctor.

08-22-12

A report of Petty Larceny in the Forest Villas.  The victim reports their wallet missing from an unsecured room.

08-23-12

A report of Drug Narcotic Violations and Liquor Law Violations in Palmetto Hall.  Two students issued State Tickets and referred to Student Affairs.

08-24-12

A report of an off campus Larceny at the American Legion.  The victim reports their wallet, keys and FMU ID stolen.

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Parking lot “F”.  The damage was caused by a minor vehicle collision.

A report of a Weapon Law Violation in Parking Lot “G”.  A weapon was found in a car.  One non-student jailed.

A report of Liquor Law Violations and Violation of Written FMU Policy/Regulation in the Village Apartments.  A loud gathering with alcohol resulted in eight students being referred to Student Affairs.

08-25-12

A report of Drug Narcotic Violations and Liquor Law Violations in Parking Lot “G”.  Two students jailed for marijuana and one of the two charged with alcohol violation.  Both referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Trespass of Real Property at The Triangle.  One non-student on the Trespass List was jailed.

08-26-12

A report of Lost/Stolen Property in the Forest Villas.  The victim reports electronics missing.

08-27-12

A report of Missing/Stolen FMU Decal from an unknown location.  The Complainant reports their decal missing from their vehicle.

A report of Missing FMU Decal in Parking lot “G”.  The Complainant reports their decal missing from their vehicle.

08-28-12

A report of Damage to Personal Property (Motor Vehicle) in Parking Lot “G”.  The victim reports their vehicle was struck and the other vehicle left without providing information.

A report of Assault-Intimidation, Obscene Harassing Telephone Calls and harassment in Watson hall.  The victim reports getting unsolicited threatening phone calls.

A report of Trespass of Real Property and Guest Visitation Violation in the Forest Villas.  One non-student on the Trespass List jailed.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

08-29-12

A report of Driving under Suspension (DUS) on Alumni Drive.  A non-student was found DUS during a traffic stop and issued a State Ticket.

A report of Violation of Written FMU Policy/Regulation at Griffin Athletics Complex.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Damage to State Property at the Housing Office.  A door glass came out of door.  Referred to Housing Office.

08-30-12

A report of Lost/Stolen Wallet and ID on Campus.  The victim reports their wallet missing along with ID and other credentials.

A report of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia at Marion State Hall.  One student issued a State Ticket and referred to Student Affairs.

08-31-12

A report of a Missing/Stolen FMU Decal in Parking Lot “G”.  The Complainant reports their decal missing.

09-03-12

A report of Misuse of FMU Decal and Violation of Written FMU Policy/Regulation at Village Apartments.  Two students referred to Student Affairs one of the two issued a Campus Ticket.

A report of Unauthorized Use/Entry to FMU Facility at Griffin Athletics Complex.  Six students referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Vandalism to Personal Property in Parking Lot “F”.  The victim reports their vehicle damaged while parked.

09-04-12

A report of Drug/Narcotic Violation in Palmetto Hall.  One non-student jailed and four students referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Driving under the Influence and Liquor Law Violation in Parking Lot “G”.  Four students referred to Student Affairs and one of the four jailed.

A report of Driving under Suspension on Wallace Woods Road at Palmetto Street.  One non-student jailed.

A report of Harassment at Swamp Fox Hall.  Two students referred to Student Affairs.

09-05-12

A report of Trespass of Real Property and Guest Visitation Violation in the Smith University Center.  One non-student issued a Trespass Notice and one student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Damage to Personal Property at an unknown location.  The victim reports decals were removed from a vehicle.

09-06-12

A report of Drug/Narcotic Violation and Drug Equipment Violation on Patriot Drive.  One student jailed and referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Vandalism to Personal Property in Parking Lot “F”.  The victim reports their vehicle damaged while parked.

A report of Missing/Stolen FMU Decal in Parking Lot “G”.  The Complainant reports their decal missing from their vehicle.

09/11/12

An Information report of Alleged Marijuana Use in Snow Island Hall.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Theft from a Building at the Forest Villas.  Victim reports cash stolen from their unsecured room.

An Information report of Alleged Drug Use and Violation of Written FMU Policy/Regulation at the Forest Villas.  One student referred to Student Affairs and one non-student issued a Trespass Notice.

 

Campus Police officers responded to eleven (11) requests for Medical Assistance during this period.

 

FOUND PROPERTY:  FMUPD currently has numerous items that were left unattended or found on campus.  If you are missing an item of property and can provide identifying information for your missing property, contact Lt. Ken Pittman at 843-661-1117.
