We ask that anyone having information about any crimes committed on campus call 661-1109.  You don’t need to tell us who you are; just tell us what you know.  You can provide your information anonymously through our “Silent Witness” page at on the campus police web site (http://www.fmarion.edu/about/police ).  In the past, “Silent Witness” reports have provided leads on cases under investigation.  Thanks to those community members concerned with keeping FMU safe and secure.   Please be our eyes and ears out there….  We need you to help us to help you.


For the period 09-12-12 through 09-25-12 the following incidents were reported to and/or investigated by Campus Police:

09-12-12

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Parking Lot “H”; a vehicle was damaged while parked.

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Parking Lot “F”; a vehicle was damaged while parked.

09-13-12

A report of a Simple Assault at the CEMC; an unidentified male flipped up the skirt of the victim.

09-14-12

A report of Harassment that occurred at various locations; the victim continues to be contacted after telling the subject to cease.

A report of Conduct that Threatens Health and Safety in Founders Hall; the subject had an emotional outburst in class and was referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Harassment that occurred at various locations; the victim continues to get unsolicited contacts from the subject.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

09-15-12

A report of Guest Visitation Violation in Marion State Hall; a non-student was escorted from campus and the student was referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Drug Violation and Liquor Law Violation in Parking Lot “G”; three nonstudent jailed.

09-16-12

A report of Damage to State Property at the Forest Villas; a picnic table and benches were damaged.

A report of Theft from a Building at the Heyward Community Center; unsecured personal property was stolen by an unknown person.

A report of Possession of Marijuana in Parking Lot “G”; one student jailed.

09-17-12

A report of Assault – Intimidation at various locations; the victim continued to receive unwanted texts resulting in a verbal confrontation.  Two students referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Liquor Law Violation on Patriot Drive; one non-student issued a state citation and a trespass warning.

09-18-12

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Parking Lot “G”; a vehicle was damaged while parked.

09-20-12

A report of Vandalism to Personal Property in Parking Lot “H”; a vehicle was intentionally damaged while parked.

09-21-12

A report of Drug/Narcotic Violation in Parking Lot “F”; 2 students referred to Student Affairs, one of the two jailed.

A report of Damage to State Property at the Athletics Complex; an unknown individual damaged a gate at the emergency lane.

A report of Possession of Alcohol under 21, Excessive Noise and Disturbing Schools in the Forest Villas; 15 students referred to Student Affairs, four issued state citations and one jailed for Disturbing Schools.

09-22-12

A report of Drug Equipment Violation, Open Container Violation and Trespass Warning Issued; one student issued a state citation for drug paraphernalia possession and referred to Student Affairs.  One non-student issued a state citation for alcohol possession and a Trespass Notice.  One other non-student issued a Trespass Notice.

A report of Failure to Comply with Directions of a University Official in Parking Lot “B”; two student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Conduct that Threatens Health and Safety in Marion State Hall; one student referred to Student Affairs.

09-23-12

A report of Drug Equipment and Liquor Law Violations in Parking Lot “G”; two non-students issued state citations and sent Trespass Notices.

A report of Weapons Law Violation and Trespassing on The Cottage Road; one student jailed for the weapons law violation.  Arrest warrant obtained for non-student charging trespassing.

A report of Theft from a Building at the Heyward Community Center Laundry; the victim reported laundry items taken.  Unfounded the items were returned.

09-24-12

A report of Assault – Intimidation at various locations; the victim reports receiving unsolicited calls; one student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Unlawful Use of Telephone in the Forest Villas; one student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Parking Lot “G”; a vehicle was damaged while parked.

 

 

Campus Police officers responded to nine (9) requests for Medical Assistance during this period. (as of 09/26/12)

 

FOUND PROPERTY:  FMUPD currently has numerous items that were left unattended or found on campus.  If you are missing an item of property and can provide identifying information for your missing property, contact Lt. Ken Pittman at 843-661-1117.
