Crime Report: October 19, 2011

For the period 09-21-11 through 10-13-11 the following incidents were reported to and/or investigated by Campus Police:

September 21

A report of Violation of FMU Policy/Regulation near Marion State Hall.  Seven students referred to Student Affairs for alcohol.

September 22

A report of Suspicious Activity and Trespass Warning Issued in the Village Apartments area.  Three non-students issued trespass Notices when they ran from Police for no reason.

A report of Possession of Alcohol under 21 at the Village Apartments.  Four students referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Possession of Alcohol under 21 near the Heyward Community Center.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

September 23

A report of a Fire Response – False Alarm at the Forest Villas.  The alarm was a false alarm no fire or smoke.

A report of Trespass of Real Property at The Octagon in the residence halls area.  One non-student was jailed when officers discovered he was on the trespass list.

A report of Liquor Law Violation in Snow Island Hall.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

September 24

A report Damage to State Property at Parking Lot “C”.  A tractor-trailer turned too short and damaged a sign and shrubbery.  Referred to Facilities Maintenance.

A report of Drug/Narcotic Violation in Snow Island Hall.  One non-student jailed and one student referred to Student Affairs.

September 25

A report of Drug/Narcotic Violation at the Village Apartments.  One student issued State Ticket and referred to Student Affairs.

September 27

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Parking Lot “A”.  The victim’s vehicle was damaged while parked.  The subject initially agreed to settle with the victim with no police report however the parties could not agree on the damage estimates.  Victim came to Campus Police for a report.

A report of Probation Violation – Off Campus Charge and Trespass Warning Issued.  One non-student jailed for an outstanding off campus warrant and issued a Trespass Warning.

September 28

A report of Theft from a Building in the Village Apartments.  The victim reports cash and clothing items missing.

September 30

A report of a Simple Assault in the Forest Villas.  A verbal dispute turned physical.  Two students referred to Student Affairs, neither wanted to file criminal charges.

A report of Possession of Liquor where Prohibited by Owner and Warrant Served (off campus charges) at Patriot Drive near Swamp Fox Hall.  Three non-students issued Trespass Warnings and one of the three arrested for an outstanding off campus warrant.

October 4

A report of Violation of Campus Traffic Regulation, Forged/Altered FMU Decal on Patriot Drive.  One student issued an FMU Ticket and referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Parking Lot “A”.  A minor vehicle accident the two parties agreed to handle.

A report of Trespass of Real Property in Parking lot “A”.  One non-student jailed when discovered he was on Trespass List.

A report of Trespass of Real Property in the Smith University Center.  One non-student jailed when discovered he was on Trespass List.

October 5

A report of Theft from a Building in the Forest Villas.  The victim reports text books stolen from their room.

A report of Driving under Suspension in Parking lot “E”.  One non-student jailed and issued a Trespass Notice.

October 6

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Parking Lot “A”.  The victim reports their vehicle was damaged while parked.  This report was filed several days after the fact and after the damage had been repaired.

A report of Excessive Noise Violation in Snow Island Hall.  Two students issued State Tickets after being warned previously and referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Assault – Intimidation near Rogers Library.  The victim reports being approached and harassed by a student.  One student ref
