Crime Report 9-12-12

We ask that anyone having information about any crimes committed on campus call 661-1109.  You don’t need to tell us who you are; just tell us what you know.  You can provide your information anonymously through our “Silent Witness” page at on the campus police web site (http://www.fmarion.edu/about/police ).  In the past, “Silent Witness” reports have provided leads on cases under investigation.  Thanks to those community members concerned with keeping FMU safe and secure.   Please be our eyes and ears out there….  We need you to help us to help you.


For the period 09-12-12through 10-10-12 the following incidents were reported to and/or investigated by Campus Police:

09-12-12

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Lot “H”.  A vehicle was damaged while parked.

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Lot “F”.  A vehicle was damaged while parked.

09-13-12

A report of a Simple Assault at the Media Center.  The victim reported her skirt flipped up by an unknown and unidentified male.

09-14-12

A report of Harassment at various locations.  The victim reports receiving unwanted attention from a subject.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Conduct that Threatens Health and Safety.  A student had an emotional outburst in class and was referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Guest Visitation Violation in Marion State Hall.  One non-student escorted from campus and one student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Drug Narcotic Violations and Liquor Law Violations in Parking Lot “G”.  Three non-students issued State Tickets, Trespass Notices and jailed.

09-16-12

A report of Damage to State Property at the Forest Villas.  An unknown individual damaged a picnic table and benches.

A report of Theft from a Building at the Heyward Community Center.  An unknown individual took an unsecure cell phone and keys.

A report of Simple Possession of Marijuana in Parking Lot “G”.  A student was discovered smoking marijuana, jailed and referred to Student Affairs.

09-17-12

A report of Assault – Intimidation and Failure to Comply with the Directions of a University Official at various campus locations.  Students involved in intimidating texts that lead to a verbal altercation.  Two students referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Liquor Law Violation on Patriot Drive.  A non-student found with liquor was issued a State Ticket and a Trespass Notice.

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Lot “G”.  A vehicle was damaged while parked.

A report of Vandalism to Personal Property in Lot “H”.  A vehicle was “keyed” while parked.

09-21-12

A report of Drug Narcotic Violation in Parking Lot “F”.  Two student referred to Student Affairs; one of the two jailed.

A report of Damage to State Property at the Athletics Complex.  An emergency lane gate was damaged.

A report of Possession of Alcohol under 21, Disturbing Schools and Excessive Noise in King Hall.  Fifteen students referred to Student Affairs.  One of this number jailed for Disturbing Schools.

A report of Drug Equipment Violation, Trespass of Real Property and Open Container Violation on Patriot Drive.  Two non-students issued State Tickets and Trespass Notices.

A report of Conduct that Threatens Health and Safety.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

09-23-12

A report of Drug Equipment Violation and Liquor Law Violation in Parking Lot “G”.  Two non-students issued State Tickets and Trespass Notices.

A report of Weapons Law Violation and Trespass of Real Propertyon The Cottage Road.  One student jailed and referred to Student Affairs for the firearm violation.  Arrest warrant obtained for one non-student for Trespassing.

A report of Theft from a Building at the Heyward Community Center.  The victim reported several items missing.  The case was unfounded as the items were returned.

A report of Assault – Intimidation at various locations.  The victim reports receiving unsolicited calls and tweets.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Unlawful use of Telephone at Allen Hall.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Damage to Personal Property in Parking Lot “G”.  A vehicle was damaged while parked.

A report of Trespass of Real Property, Liquor Law Violations and Excessive Noise in Allen Hall.  One non-student jailed for trespassing, one student issued a State Ticket for the Alcohol Violation and six students referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Petty Larceny and Verbal Altercation in Beaty Hall.  Two apartment mates got into a verbal altercation regarding missing items.  Two students referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Petty Larceny at the Ervin Dining Hall.  A subject obtained food items without paying.

A report of Conduct that Threatens Health and Safety.  One staff member referred to Human Resources.

A report of Driving under Suspension on Price Road, off campus.  One non-student jailed.

A report of Driving under Suspension on Alumni Drive.  One non-student jailed.

09-30-12

A report of Breach of Peace on The Cottage road.  One non-student jailed.

10-01-12

A report of Drug/Narcotic Violation and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in Johnston Apartments.  One student jailed and referred to Student Affairs.

A report of Drug/Narcotic Violation in Parking Lot “G”.  Marijuana in the car was claimed by a non-student who was jailed.  One student referred to Student Affairs.

10-02-12

A report of Guest VisitationViolation and Trespass Warning Issued at Marion State Hall.  A Silent Witness tip led to the discovery of a non-student staying on campus.  One student referred to Student Affairs.  One non-student issued a Trespass Warning.

10-03-12

A report of Conduct that Threatens Health & Safety in Snow Island Hall.  Unidentified subjects left unwanted items hanging from several door knobs.

10-04-12

A report of Public Drunk at the Performing Arts Center.  One non-student refused to leave and was jailed.

A repot of Trespass Warning Issued in Parking Lot “G”.  One non-student issued a Trespass Warning.

10-08-12

A report of Unlawful Use of Telephone at the Octagon.  A student reported receiving several unsolicited phone calls from an unidentified subject.

A report of Theft from a Building at the Heyward Community Center.  A student reported an item of clothing stolen from the laundry room while she was out.  Video shows anunidentified subject removing the item however this subject does not enter any residence with CCTV coverage.

10-09-12

A report of Unauthorized Use of Facilities and Guest Visitation Violations in Cusac Hall.  Five students referred to Student Affairs.

 

Campus Police officers responded to thirteen (13) requests for Medical Assistance during this period.

 

FOUND PROPERTY:  FMUPD currently has numerous items that were left unattended or found on campus.  If you are missing an item of property and can provide identifying information for your missing property, contact Lt. Ken Pittman at 843-661-1117.
